HardCover Entertainment Software is a Phoenix based company and was founded in 1998 by John Holben. John has worked for several different software houses developing mainly custom business solutions. These different solutions has given him a chance to work with many different programming languages, such as C, C++,C#, IRL, Java, JavaScript, PowerBuilder, Progress, Visual Basic, VB.NET and even Assembly. Although these systems are challenging they are not as fulfilling as developing video games. What makes HardCover unique is that not only does John have a passion for programming but also for video games. You could say that the company was really conceived when John received his first computer, the awesome Commodore Vic 20 where he wrote a version of Frogger. After that it was on the 6502 of the Atari home computers. This is really where the name HardCover comes from, a little play on words from the thought of the ROM Cartridge (the hard cover) that was used with early computers. All employees of HardCover must have a passion for the whole process of creating Video Games.
